Abstract

This article presents an archeographic publication of the memoir-obituary about Mykola Biliashivskyi, who was the organizer and the first director of the largest historical museum of Ukraine. This text of an unindentified authorship has been held in the archive of the All-Ukrainian Academy of Sciences. The publication of the memoir is supplemented with the extensive commentary, which contextualizes the document within published in 1926 obituaries of M. Biliashivskyi. It is explored what the contemporaries appreciated most about numerous social activities of M. Biliashivskyi, as well as the formation of his public image in the 1920s.
