Abstract

The contents of the collection of cold steel of the National museum of Ukrainian History, which contains the arms of the period of the World War I, is analyzed in the article. Ukrainian armies of the period of Ukrainian revolution 1917–1920 used predominantly Russian, German, and Austro-Hungarian weapons. It was revealed that the collection of the museum’s fund group ‘Arms and military equipment’ contains many examples of the cold steel which could be used by the participants of various military formations of the period of Ukrainian struggle for national liberation. These museum objects can occupy its place in the renewed exhibition about Ukrainian revolution. They also can be used in making other exhibitions about that period of Ukrainian history.
