GERMAN MUSKET OF THE 16TH CENTURY FROM THE COLLECTION OF BOGDAN IVANOVICH KHANENKO IN THE COLLECTION OF THE NATIONAL MUSEUM OF UKRAINIAN HISTORY
Abstract
The article is devoted to the attribution of a muzzle-loaded smoothbore long gun – ceremonial musket of the 16th century, in the decoration and construction of which there are signs indicating its origin from the armored workshops of Dresden (Saxony): the ‘German application slot’ and ‘Dresden scales’, the image of a soldier-ladsknecht. This model of weaponry and work of decorative arts came to the collection of the museum from the collection of B. I. Khanenko, who acquired this rarity in 1890 at the auction of the collection of R. Richards in Roma.
