Abstract

The article is devoted to the introduction to scientific circulation the unpublished materials and findings of glass vessels fabricated from multicoloured glass, which were found during the recent excavations in Olbia in the collection of the National Museum of Ukrainian History. In the first century BC until the first century AD different techniques of glassware manufacturing were used to imitate products made of precious and semiprecious stones. In Olbia were found vials, cups, and plates made in the technique of “millefiori”. In the first century AD for decoration of perfume vessels was used the technique of “motley surface”, with assistance of which the surface of the blowed vessels was decorated with mottled patterns.
