Abstract

The lack of a consolidated view on the significance of th estone axes in the Catacomb culture burials stimulates lively discussions among the scholars. The topic therefore has not lost its relevance. The Slоvyansk Regional History Museum houses quite a large collection of the stone axes, its moulds and fragments, information of which have not yet been introduced to academia at all or have been partly introduced. The stone axes are insignia of power and underline the status of the deceased during his lifetime.
