SPECIFICITIES OF THE PRESENTATION OF A MUSEUM COLLECTION IN A CONCEPTUAL EXHIBITION: FROM THE EXPERIENCE OF THE MAKING OF THE ‘COSSACK CAMP’ EXHIBITION
Abstract
This article is dedicated to the problems of making the museum exhibition and the specificities of the presentation of the collection in it. An overview of the recent publications proves that there is a certain gap in the Ukrainian museum studies in the spheres of research and fixation of exhibitions as a separate museum product, as well as consideration of the scientific principles of metaphorical methods of their making. The article provides a brief description of the conceptual method and analyzes the “Cossack camp” exhibition in terms of creating it with this method at the levels of divisions, subdivisions and individual complexes, as well as presentation of the museum collection in this context. The principle of organization of the exhibition is its volumetric presentation. The exhibition belongs to the type of realistic ones. By the way of presenting of the exhibits, it belongs to the exhibitions with irregular (asymmetric) rhythmic representation.
