ICONOGRAPHIC SOURCES ON THE HISTORY OF KAMIANETS-PODILSKYI IN THE ARCHIVES AND LIBRARIES OF POLAND

Abstract

The article describes the information capacity of the archival institutions and libraries of Poland for the study of the images of Kamianets-Podilskyi. An overview of the basic plans and images of Kamianets-Podilskyi in the period of the 1680s – 1720s is carried out in the study. These materials were published in the cartographic editions of Western European states. The historical plans of the city are surveyed, which show peculiarities of the buildings and architectural composition of ‘old’ Kamianets. Perspectives of research of this type of historical source are considered.
