YURIY ALEKSANDROVYCH’S ACTIVITY ON ORGANIZATION OF MUSEUM INSTITUTIONS IN PODILLIA IN THE 1910s

Abstract

The article is dedicated to Yuriy Aleksandrovych’s activities on the formation of museum centres and ethnographic collections in Podillia in the 1910’s. In the course of the studies on Podillia crafts and trades, the scholar managed to form a significant fund of ethnographical, photographical materials and the collections of the regional folk crafts. The collected exhibits became a significant part of certain museum funds in Podillia. Some fragments of the process of institutionalization of museums in Podillia in the period under analysis were reconstructed on the basis of the scholar’s personal and official correspondence.
