Abstract

The article contains a brief historical overview of the development of local pottery from the oldest times, based on the case of the archaeological collection and the collection of artistic ceramics of Yosaphat Kobrynskyi National Museum of Folk Art of Hutsulshchyna and Pokuttya. Artistic and stylistic features of the Kolomyia ceramics painting are characterized. The role of the Kolomyia Pottery School and its graduates is underlined. It also provides brief information on contemporary craftsmen and their role in continuation of the folk pottery traditions of Kolomyia.
