ON RESTORATION OF THE ISOGRAPHIC PLASTIC “SURTOUT DE TABLE” FROM DMYTRO YAVORNYTSKYI’S COLLECTIONS
Abstract
Figurines made of bread crumbs from D. I. Yavornytskyi’s collection are stored in the D. I. Yavornytskyi Dnipropetrovsk National Historical museum. The figurines were made for serving festive meals. Previously, they belonged to I. Ye. Repin’s family, and still were not appropriately studied. These objects came to the museum from Sankt-Petersburg or Penaty in around 1904–1908. According to the traditions which existed in I. Ye. Repin and D. I. Yavornytskyi’s families as well as the whole Taurida region, such isographic plastics as banquet stuff was used to serve holiday tables on weddings, birthdays, jubilees etc.
