THE ELUCIDATION OF THE HETMANATE PERIOD (THE 2ND HALF OF THE 17TH – 18TH CENTURY) IN THE EXHIBITIONS OF THE MUSEUMS OF KYIV AND LEFT-BANK UKRAINE

Abstract

The article elucidates the exhibitory activities of historical and local museums of Kyiv and Left-Bank Ukraine, devoted to the Hetmanate period (the second half of the 17th – 18th centuries). The exhibitions in question are the ones dedicated to the Cossack era in the Chernihiv, Poltava, Northeastern Sumy regions, the Left-Bank part of Kyiv and Cherkasy regions, as well as the city of Kyiv itself. These regions comprise the territory of the former Hetmanate.
The article also provides methodological recommendations for improvement of the exhibitory activities of historical and local museums of these regions concerning the coverage of the Hetmanate period.
