Abstract
The article studies the exhibiting practice of the museum institutions of a typologically new type in the profile group of historical museums of the Ternopil region. The museums of the history of political repressions and totalitarianism have been established following Ukraine’s independence, and have played an important role in the consolidation of the modern political and ideological guidelines in the Ukrainian society, based on objective and impartial approaches to assessing the historical past of the country, in particular, in each of its regions. The scientific relevance and topicality of this research lies in the fact that for the first time in the history of Ukrainian museology and historiography, the expositions of museums of the new type in the Ternopil region have been studied, summarized and analyzed. The results of this research can be applied in practice by the museums and travel agencies of other regions of Ukraine, used as an asset by educational institutions in the curriculums of museology and regional studies, etc.
