DEVELOPMENT OF MUSEUM WORK IN OBUHIV DISTRICT
Abstract
A comprehensive study of the history of the establishment of museum institutions in Obukhiv district and its administrative center in Obukhiv is conducted for the first time. The article observes the emergence of museums, their activities and number in the 50-60-s, 70-80-s, 90-s of the 20th century, 2000-s, and the period from 2010 on. Problems of the current state of museum institutions in rural areas and deficiency of a unified register of cultural institutions are revealed. In addition to officially registered and departmental museums, there is a large number of institutions that function on voluntary basis or do not comply with all norms and are recorded nowhere. Therefore, at present, Obukhiv district has approximately 40 existing museums, but this number is not final and requires further research.
