VASYLISK HNEDOV’S FAMILY ARCHIVE IN THE FUNDS OF KHERSON REGIONAL MUSEUM OF LOCAL LORE
Abstract
This article is devoted to the history of formation and existence of the archive of Vasylisk (Vasily Ivanovich) Hnedov (1890–1978) – ego-futurist writer. The greatest part of the archive is stored in the funds of Kherson Regional Museum of Local Lore.
Special attention in the article is paid to the analysis of documents and diaries that supplement the writer’s biography and his manuscript heritage. Vasylisk Hnedov’s two diaries, written in the last years of his life, cover a large period of time and reveal unknown facts of his childhood and adolescence. A number of writer’s autobiographies and documents allows us to concretize unknown events of Hnedov’s life.
The documentary part of the archive contains unique documents, including certificate of marriage of V. Hnedov and the famous revolutionist O. Pilatska, who had been dead for more than 20 years at the moment of issueing the document. Among the manuscripts are both rough and finished manuscripts of poetries and different versions of the same work. Although part of the writer’s handwritten archive in the museum’s funds is fragmentary, it contains poetic experiments since 1938 up to the end of the last year of Hnedov’s life. It allows to characterize to a certain extent his creativity of this period.
