NADIIA SUROVTSOVA’S CONTRIBUTION TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF MUSEUM WORK IN UMAN REGION

Abstract

Nadiia Surovtsova’s activity in Uman period of her life and her activities in the fields of local history, ethnography and art criticism are reconstructed on the basis of memoirs, archival materials and the studies of a number of Ukrainian and foreign researchers. The following directions of her work can be singled out: work in Uman museum of local lore, active participation in the opening of Uman art gallery, studying the history of the city and ‘Sofiyivka’ park, numerous articles on local history in the city and foreign press. The analysis of such articles will be the topic of our next studies.
