Abstract

Petro Kalnyshevsky as a prominent state, political, and military figure is depicted in many studies. At the same time, little attention is paid to his charity. The article reflects the history of one of the Gospels, which was donated to the Trinity Church in Pustoviytivka in 1762, which is currently stored in the Romny Museum of local lore of the State Historical and Cultural Reserve “Posullya”. Prehistory of the sacral object, its production and descriptions are revealed. The significance of the Gospel is emphasized. It is as a true masterpiece of Ukrainian gold jewelry production of the 18th century, which occupied a worthy place in the world art catalogues.
