ACCESS TO THE WALTERS ART MUSEUM COLLECTION OF MEDIEVAL MANUSCRIPTS

Abstract

The article explores the modern technologies to provide access to the museum collection for example Walters Art Museum (USA). The analysis of projects related to the gathering of medieval manuscripts digitization shows the importance and prospects of such activities. It states that new electronic form of medieval manuscript popularizes a museum and history, including medieval studies, expands opportunities for researchers from around the world. However, there is a change in attitude to the medieval manuscript as a physical object.
