TERRACOTTA SCULPTURES FROM OLBIA EXCAVATIONS IN THE NMUH (BASED ON EXPOSITION MATERIALS)

NMUH displays a wide range of terracotta figurines of the 6th – 5th centuries BC originated from Olbia (modern Parutyne village of Mykolaiv region). The majority of terracotta figurines were produced locally. They are manufactured by the same technological and stylistic principles as similar ones in Greece, Asia Minor and ancient cities of the Northern Black Sea coast. The classification of terracotta figurines from the NMUH exposition based on chronological groups has been elaborated in the article.
